Rules for the Final

  

 
 
1. Race mode:
Racing will take place on a 2-lane Carrera DIGITAL 124
circuit using 1:24 scale Carrera DIGITAL Porsche RS Spyder and AUDI R10 cars.
 
2. Qualifying
- 2 mins. free training.
- 5 qualifying laps (2 lanes – 2 drivers per run -> 8 qualifying runs). The fastest lap time of the 5 qualifying laps shall be taken to determine the grid positions for the international final.
 
3. Grid positions
Grid positions are determined using the lap times achieved in qualifying.
These times shall also be used to determine group in which each driver races.
The qualifying rankings of 1 – 16 are based on the lap times achieved.
 
4. Quarter-finalists
- 2 mins. free training
- The quarter-finals shall consist of 10 laps of racing per heat.
The total number of competitors shall be divided into 4 quarter-final heats. They shall comprise of groups of four drivers.
The four fastest drivers according to official timing (qualifying positions 1 - 4) shall all start in pole position in their respective groups.
The drivers ranked 5 – 8 in the timing rankings will begin the race in their respective groups in 2nd position on the grid.
The drivers ranked 9 – 12 in the timing rankings will begin the race in their respective groups in 3rd position on the grid.
The drivers ranked 13 – 16 in the timing rankings will begin the race in their respective groups in 4th position on the grid.
Group allocation is determined by qualifying positions and can be seen in the race plans.
 
5. Semi-finalists
- 2 mins. free training
- The semi-finals shall consist of 15 laps of racing per semi-final.
The semi-final shall consist of two groups, each with four participants.
The two fastest drivers in each quarter-final group qualify for the semis.
The eight drivers shall be divided up into two groups to compete for a place in the final.
 
6. Finalists
- 2 mins. free training
- The final shall consist of 20 laps of racing
The final shall be contested by the fastest two drivers from each of the two semi-finals.
Four drivers shall compete in the final.
After 20 laps the World Champion will have been identified and the times of the other finalists shall correspond to podium positions (runner-up, third place, fourth place)
 
7. Rules:
- The only cars authorised for use are those provided by the race directors/Carrera.
- Motor sport is bound to principles of fairness. Opponents must be overtaken without endangering or making contact with them. Violations of these principles and rules shall entitle the race management to insist on disqualification.
- The race directors reserve the right to caution drivers for conspicuous behaviour or driving, deliberate jostling, shoving or derailment. Should the driver ignore the caution the race directors reserve the right to disqualify the driver in question.
- All cars flying from the track may only be returned to the track at specified, predetermined, marked locations.
- If any driver is forced to retire due to technical or electronic problems, the heat shall be repeated with all four drivers.
- In cases of damage to a car or a track, the race directors shall reserve the right to decide how to proceed, without benefiting or disadvantaging one or the other driver.
- Any person is entitled to participate, except for employees of the Stadlbauer group. The main prize can not be handed back in return for money or other compensation. The main prize can not be paid out in cash. No recourse to legal action shall be permitted.
