
All fuelled up? Race to the top! On the 28th November 2009, following some amazing race excitement, Andreas Lenz, 49 of Regensburg, finally secured the title of Carrera Challenge Tour Champion at the Essen Motor Show. In the final of the ‘adults’ category he just managed to finish ahead of Manuel Radlinger, from Roßtal in Franconia – the 2006 winner; and Karsten Eck. Due to the strong slot racing competition from Germany and Austria the DTM drivers Mattias Ekström, Bruno Spengler and Maro Engel made their last pit stops in the quarter-finals. The competition in the 12 - 18 year-old category was won by 18 year-old Udo Hüttlinger of Georgensgmünd. The victor in the junior category (up to 12 years) was 12 year-old Alexander Bamberg of Wiesbaden to an enthusiastic crowd reaction. >> the results! >> see the pictures! The Carrera Challenge Tour 2009 is the most significant slot car racing event in Europe. Once again this year the competition fascinated a whole range of motorsports fans from Bremen to Vienna. Thousands of Carrera drivers did battle on a digital Carrera racetrack, in a breathtaking racing atmosphere, for the fastest times in true-to-original 1:32 scale DTM cars.
